About Tara Liz

Change your thoughts. Change your body. Change your life.
Believe… it is possible.

I am a board certified health and wellness coach. I call myself a healthy lifestyle coach, this comes from my own personal journey, my struggles, educating myself and from figuring out what REALLY WORKS. I am so passionate about guiding people to achieve their own health and wellness goals. I can’t wait to help you with yours!!

If you want the truth, look inside yourself and start with intuition.

It’s important that you know I’ve been exactly where you are right now! Stuck in that repetitive, vicious cycle of making choices based on comfort and convenience rather than gathering the courage to correct the pattern itself.
During my 20’s, I had no idea what I wanted from life. Like many people, I struggled to find balance, eating issues got in the way of nutrition, my emotions were all over the road, my relationships were rocky and I felt lost in a profession that didn’t satisfy me. After several years of just getting by, it became clear that I needed to change my life in a meaningful way. I was living an unhealthy lifestyle that wasn’t reflective of the person I wanted to be. I knew it was time to start moving in another direction.

“Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change” – Jim Rohn

So I did what everyone fears, I admitted to myself I needed to change. Yikes!! I know! This required me to take a hard look at myself and decide what my ideal life would look like. This meant truly facing my fears and addressing my goals. It wasn’t easy at first but I can tell you it was worth it! The more momentum I built, the clearer it became to me… health and wellness is a way of life. It’s about finding balance, maintaining a positive outlook, being grateful and taking steps toward your goals.

There is no better time, than now to start living healthy.

Time to Get Moving

I began by making Physical Fitness a regular part of my life after many years of struggling to find balance. Classes kept me motivated and I looked forward to them. I experimented with new types of exercise to keep it interesting. The more consistent I was, the better I felt and looked. I gained more confidence and the endorphins that I got from it helped me turn negative days into positive ones. Exercise is like therapy for my soul.

When you finish a great workout, you feel great about yourself.

Healthy Eating

I developed a healthy relationship with food after many years of battling eating issues. There is no one magic diet plan, therefore I came up with a healthy lifestyle plan that I could sustain and maintain while still enjoying things like going out to dinner and doing the things I love. I educated myself about eating healthy and whole nutritious foods became part of my every day. I learned how to shop for the right produce and eat it in a balanced way. The healthier I ate the more energy I had and the better I felt. I added nutrient rich foods and “crowded out” unhealthy ones. It became a lifestyle that I enjoy!

Eat right, feel good.

Spirituality and faith was lacking in my life. I had not properly prioritized finding a few quiet peaceful moments to reflect each day. We all need to recharge, so I found yoga, and meditation worked well with my schedule. Point being, spirituality is different for every person. For some people it is structured religion, for other’s it may be a stroll along a deserted beach. The key is to make time to get in touch with yourself, regardless of format.

If you need something to believe in, believe in yourself.

Before I knew it my outlook on life and my relationships started to change for the better. I began to connect with the wonderful family and friends around me in a deeper more meaningful way. I got married to my wonderful husband and soul mate. I have a huge support system and I am so grateful for that.
By focusing on the things that add value in your life, you naturally attract positivity. As one of my favorite quotes says….

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” – Wayne Dyer

Wandering along a career path miles away from HSF, I slowly realized that I wasn’t satisfied. Each day it became more apparent that my current field wasn’t what I wanted for the next 20+ years. Health and Wellness had become a cornerstone of my life and I was passionate about it. After a few deep breaths it was clear that I had to take the next steps in creating HSF in order to find professional happiness once and for all!

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

My journey was full of twists and turns, but the abbreviated version of it started with an inspirational afternoon and a vision board. Within a few months things started to change. I started to focus in more on what I wanted and listened to the “signs” around me. I ended up working with a wonderful lifestyle and career coach and I began mapping out an ideal foundation for education within the health and wellness field, connected with a network of like minded professionals and as they say… the rest is history!

“It’s a beautiful thing when a passion and a career come together”

I resigned from my job and immediately felt a HUGE weight lifted off of my shoulders. I achieved my wellness coaching certification shortly after, and enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I received my health coach training. It took a lot of hard work and dedication but I now own my own business and I am living and loving my life!
This is what healthy steps forward is all about. It’s about taking those healthy steps towards the life that you deserve to be living.

Life is precious. It is time for you to come ALIVE and start LIVING LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

This is my life’s passion and I am here to support you and guide you on your path. Now, contact me and let’s get started! Once you take that first step with me, I promise you won’t look back!I know I never do!
