Gratitude is an emotion expressing appreciation for what one has. It is what gets poured into the glass to make it half full. Those who cultivate gratitude have increased levels of well-being, health and happiness. Gratitude is associated with increased levels of energy, optimism and empathy.
In my first blog I wrote a little bit about my bumpy past and how it led me to my passion. I mentioned gratitude and being thankful because gratitude is one of the best gifts I gave to myself. Without this lesson I know my life would not be where it is. I find it is so important to reflect on your life and learn from mistakes. If we look at everything in life with our eyes wide open and a loving heart it will help us grow and become who we are meant to be. But the key is to maintain Gratitude throughout our journey and for everything leading up to this moment. If you are struggling with this and holding onto negative emotions from the past, then I really hope that this blog is your gateway to a new beginning.
As I look back on my life, I recognize that I had choices. I could blame everyone around me for the things I was unhappy about or look inward for strength and change. It was a process that took time, but I chose to heal and began looking for the blessings in my life. Although everyone’s journey is different, often times the lessons can be replicated.
If we walk around with anger or resentment in our lives the one we end up hurting is ourselves. When we start to look at things in a different light, that is when we are able to grow. From what I can tell, life isn’t supposed to be smooth sailing. However, if we are willing to learn we can adapt and figure out the best way to ride out the waves.
While we are on this journey, remember that everyone comes into our lives comes in for a reason. They help take us to a place of GROWTH, HEALTH and HAPPINESS but this will only happen if we learn to embrace life positively and foster gratitude.
